COVID-19! Schools To Remain Closed Until January 18, 2021.


Though, most schools in Nigeria have closed for the year to face the boisterous Christmas and New Year festivities.

The fact remains that many of the schools have fixed resumption for the second term on the first and second week in January. This however can't stand as the government has a different plan with the rise of COVID-19 cases.

To this end, the Nigeria Government has ordered the closure of all schools in the country until the 18th of January, 2021.

The chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, made this known in a briefing as part of measures to curtail the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus.

The federal government on Monday, reintroduced some restrictions as Nigeria joins the list of countries experiencing the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Countries across Europe are seeing a resurgence in the pandemic after slowing outbreaks early in the year.

England, Hungary, Portugal, are among nations in the second lockdown with the new wave of the pandemic.

There are new restrictions such as closures of bars, night clubs and restaurants across States in Nigeria for five weeks.

More emphasis is placed on handwashing and sanitiser usage. Using facemasks is not negotiable.

  3. Almost one year is completed and still this pandemic is is impacting on everyone. Students are facing lot of problems for their education. Now second strain has come again and lot of schools has closed again. Covid cases rising day by day in all over the world. Nigerian government has taken a good step for their citizens safety. Everyone should take precautions during this time period so that we can protect our students. I hope it will end soon.
