How The Police Caught Uwa's Assailants!
Faces of the suspects ( sitting on the ground)
Remember the story of the gory rape and murder of the 100 level student of the University of Benin, (UNIBEN), Vera Uwaila Omonzua in a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God?Finally,
the law has caught up with those in connection with the dastardly act!
The
Edo state police command have arrested six suspects and paraded for public
glare.
The
innocent 22-year-old Vera was attacked with a fire extinguisher, raped
and killed when she went to read at Edo
Province 10 Ikpoba Hill, Benin, on the 27th of May,2020.
Uwa writhing in pains before her death
Several investigations had followed to catch up with
the culprits ever since.
Prayers
by pained Nigerians never went unanswered …
It
wasn’t only the fact that she was raped and murdered that triggered a stir but
the evil perpetrated in the house of God. Multiple evil I will call it.
The
suspects paraded are; Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Mrs Tina Samuel,
Mrs Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien and Collins Ulegbe.
After
thorough investigation, the police got their breakthrough after tracing the phone of the deceased to one of the suspects, Nosa Osabohien.
Nosa
who claimed to be a phone repairer said he bought late Vera's phone from the
main suspect, Collins Uyegbulen.
He, however, led the police to arrest Collins
who confessed to having directly gotten involved in the murder.
Collins said that he used the fire extinguisher in the church
to hit late Vera after the other suspects took turns to rape her.
Names of other members
of his gang are; Akato Valentine and Collins Ogbebor.
During the investigation, he told the police that one Mary Ade gave them 1million naira to kill the suspect and then use a handkerchief she gave them to clean the blood from the private part of the innocent deceased girl.
Who knows what such a dirty act is for?
Tina
Samuel happens to be another suspect who was arrested for allegedly hindering
the police from arresting her son, Lucky, who happens to be one of the
suspects.
The Commissioner of Police for the state, Johnson Kokumo, who paraded the suspects, said a post-mortem conducted on late Uwaila, showed that she was actually raped.
Thumbs up to the Nigeria Police.
Many organizations had risen to advocate against the rape in the chapel: # justice-for-uwa. Many other rapes that took place during the lockdown were neither overlooked. Rape cases did rise during the onset of COVID-19 lockdown period.
Truly the wicked
will never go unpunished! These ones will definitely dance to the tune of the
law!
Rest now, dear Omonzuwa! Your spilt blood in the chapel has haunted them and with God's backing, they have been caught!
I just can't comprehend,this is senseless killing.
