Schools Will Not Resume Anytime Soon - Education Minister.

                              Minister of Education: Adamu Adamu

The Education Minister, Adamu Adamu spoke to the Statehouse correspondents at the end of a Federal Executive Council Meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that Nigerian schools will not resume any time sooner because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Contrary to the earlier announcement, he said that students writing the Senior Secondary Certificate Exams (SSCE) will not be allowed to return to school.

He said that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) cannot determine resumption dates of schools for Nigeria.

With strong emphasis, he maintained that he would prefer that Nigerian students lose a year than expose them to danger!

Kudos were given to honour this intelligent Minister by many jubilating parents from comments that followed on some social media platforms for the decision which is meant to salvage the generation of Nigeria's greater tomorrow.

Does this remind us of the saying 'better late than never'?

Some parents see the pandemic as a blessing in disguise since it obviously has taken away the third term bills. While the parents find monetary relief, yet saddling more responsibilities in managing the excesses of their wards, many private school owners and teachers shed silent tears and seek other ways to generate incomes.
