Nigerian Women And Masking! Fashion Or Safety?

There is a saying that where ever the wind blows is where the tides will go certainly matches our fashionista Nigerian women. Following the increase in the demand for face masks in Nigeria, many fashion houses have halted sewing trending wears to focus on mask making.

A good example is Gatimo Apparel factory at Ikeja, who woke up to the call to salvage the situation by embarking on mass production of face masks to help curb the spread of the deadly Covid-19! Also following the announcement by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that mask-wearing will be compulsory from next week.

In the wake of this sudden change of business, many fashion houses have suspended making clothes and turned to make masks which is the most demanded when it comes to clothing. It's the latest and identical clothing globally.

Trust Nigerian women, since there are no trendy wears to pursue, the latest fashion trend is to look trendy in the type of mask they wear.

One begins to wonder if the masks are for safety or for fashion?
