Teacher's Corporal Punishment Leads To Death Of Student

For not coming to school for two days in order to source money and pay exam fees, Halifa Abdurrazak a Junior Secondary School (JSS) 1 student at GJSS Tokarawa, Nassarawa local government area in Kano State was asked to do frog jump until he met his death.

The late student, who was conspicuously absent for two days from school in a bid to get money to settle the fees however, resumed without the funds, a situation that infuriated his teacher (name withheld) who subjected him to strenuous frog jump punishment.

Young Abdurrazak started complaining of serious thigh and legs pains that when he got home and could not stand on his feet.

He subsequently landed in the hospital for urgent medical attention, but gave up the ghost after some complications.

The step father lamented about the strenuous punishment his son must have gone through instead of been sent back home.

Police in the state have also swung into action by launching of an investigation team into the matter to ascertain the truth in the matter.
